A STRATEGY IN NEED
Here’s a strategic approach to incentivize states to actively participate in hockey development. Here's how you can implement it:
1. Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Define specific KPIs for each state, including participation rates in events, number of training camps organized, talent identification efforts, etc.
Ensure that these KPIs are realistic, measurable, and aligned with national hockey development objectives.
2. Funding Allocation Based on Performance:
Allocate funding to states based on their performance in meeting the established KPIs.
States that demonstrate proactive efforts in hockey development and meet or exceed their KPIs should receive continued financial support.
3. Incentivize Performance Improvement:
Offer incentives such as additional funding, recognition, or resources to states that show significant improvement in their hockey programs.
Recognize and reward states that excel in talent development, grassroots initiatives, and overall program effectiveness.
4. Accountability and Monitoring:
Implement a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track the performance of each state against their KPIs.
Hold states accountable for their performance and provide feedback and support to help them improve.
5. Transitioning Support to Clubs:
Identify well-performing clubs within states and explore opportunities to transition funding and support to these clubs.
Provide clubs with resources, training, and guidance to effectively manage and grow hockey programs at the grassroots level.
6. Capacity Building and Training:
Offer capacity-building programs and training sessions for clubs to enhance their organizational capabilities, coaching standards, and player development initiatives.
Empower clubs to become key drivers of hockey development within their communities.
7. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between successful clubs and states to replicate best practices and innovative approaches.
Establish a network or forum for clubs to exchange ideas, resources, and experiences in hockey development.
